A study in 2015, wanted to investigate how poor sleep impacted performance.
The study compared performance of 12 high level tennis players with the most important aspect of the game, the serve.
In week one they had an average recovery time of 7 hours & 8 minutes, they achieved 35.7% accuracy in serves.
In week two, the tennis players then averaged 8 hours & 51 minutes of sleep a night. They repeated the same tests, the players then achieved 41.8% accuracy. A huge improvement from simply improving sleep.
